On The Issues: Your Issues - My Concerns

Fiscal Responsibility

Monrovia must remain fiscally sound and continue to progress economically. Cities must implement federal and state mandates, many times without or before receiving sufficient funding. This continues to be one of our greatest challenges.

Public Safety

Provide a safe and wholesome environment for our citizens by having the resources available for our Police Department, Fire Department, and Public Works to do their jobs.

Education

Partner with and volunteer at our schools to ensure our children are educated to successfully compete for jobs in the workplace and are prepared College.

Youth

Continue to focus on our youth and provide a safe environment where they can be educated and develop as leaders. Have job training opportunities like the (YES) Youth Employment Services and to bring back wholesome entertainment activities such as the Friday Night Project.

Public Transportation

My vision is to see the Gold Line extended to the Ontario Airport and to insure that it is a safe commute.

Environment

My military training and experience as a Nuclear Biological Chemical Specialist heightened my passion for having a clean environment. I will continue my commitment for Monrovia to be a "green" healthy city through consumer education, recycling, water conservation and commuter programs.

Home Ownership and Homelessness

Strive to provide housing that is affordable for existing and new owners and renters. Offer programs and grants that prevent current residents living in Monrovia from losing their homes. Explore options that prevent homelessness; partner with other agencies, such as Los Angeles County and Foothill Unity Center, to offer assistance and services to persons in need. The City currently has a Housing Displacement Response Plan that helps families on the verge of being displaced from their home.

Mental Health

Raise awareness and improve access to services to reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with mental health and seeking treatment.
