About Larry

Monrovia has been my home all of my life; I graduated from Monrovia High School in 1973, enlisted and spent 21 years in the U.S. Army; served at various duty stations stateside and in Korea and Germany. As a military trained Nuclear Biological Chemical, Logistics, and Operations Specialist, I acquired leadership, accounting and procurement knowledge as well. Recently, I earned an Associate's degree in Applied Science Administrative/Management Studies from Excelsior College in Buffalo, NY.

My wife and I have been married since 1992 and are proud parents of three amazing children, now successful adults, who were educated in Monrovia public schools. Their academic achievements demonstrate the value we place on education and the confidence our family has in Monrovia's public schools, its teachers and administrators.

My volunteer efforts for Monrovia, an All-America city, are focused on the entire community, its residents, schools, and businesses. I am especially concerned about the most vulnerable, our youth and elderly. As a certified Monrovia Area Partner (MAP) leader, I’m very proud of our programs and services that promote neighborhood unity, civic education, and team building.  In 2011, I was nationally recognized with a Neighborhood USA award, 41st Assembly District 2017 Veteran of The Year, and I was named to “Who’s Who in America’s Neighborhoods”.
